Danielle remembered at Christmas 22.12.17

FRIENDS of the late Danielle McLaughlin will remember her this Christmas with a number of festive fundraisers in Buncrana.
A carol singing service and a charity waxing night are being organised as the tragic young woman’s family await the trial of the man accused of her killing in India.
Ms McLaughlin’s body was found in the Canacona area of Goa on March 14, the day after the 28-year old attended Holi celebrations, the Hindu festival of colours, in the popular coastal resort.
A local Canacona man, 24, was subsequently arrested and charged with her rape and murder.
It is expected his trial will begin early in the new year.
Organisers of the Truth for Danielle campaign this week thanked everyone who had supported a series of fundraisers this year to fund legal and other expenses incurred by the dead woman’s family as they seek justice for her abroad.
The final fundraisers of 2017 include a carol service on Buncrana Main Street this Saturday, December 23, with the Motley Crew Carol Singers at 2pm outside Oscars restaurant. This will be followed with a ‘wax on-wax-off’ charity event involving some 20 local male volunteers on December 27at The Laurentic Bar, Linsfort. A ‘large surprise event’ is being organised for February 2018.

“We have approximately three-quarters of all required money paid and have a few upcoming events which will hopefully take us over the line in regard to finances,” the campaign organisers said on Facebook.
“If anyone has any other ideas please contact the page and any additional money raised will go towards charities which Danielle supported.”
