Michelle Doherty overcomes "dark times" 09.07.14

INISHOWEN favourite Michelle Doherty has revealed she reached a "really bad place" as she struggled with feelings of depression.
The model and TV presenter from Malin, who is expecting her first child, makes the revelations in this month's 'Irish Tatler' magazine.
The popular local woman said she found it difficult to cope with the early morning demands of her then-job as breakfast host at the now defunct Phantom FM in Dublin.
"I was very low, I reached a really bad place," she said. "I couldn't deal with it. I'm not a morning person, I'm a real night owl.
"I got to the stage where I hated the sound of my own voice and didn't want to talk to anybody and I just became a little bit of a recluse to be honest.
"Moving to London was the best thing I could've done because I got my life back and I just, I just started to feel normal again," she said.
London-based Michelle is now looking forward to welcoming her first baby with businessman partner Mark O'Shea from Kerry.
