Council bids ‘Slán Abhaile’ to old roadsigns 07.05.14

EVER wanted an official Irish 'Slán Abhaile' road sign to bid farewell to your guests? What about a speed limit sign for your driveway?
Old road signs for sale.
A local authority is selling off a pile of old redundant road signs, vehicles, equipment and machinery as scrap metal to the highest bidder.
Donegal County Council is offering for sale by tender thousands of euro worth of lots including old lorries, pick-up trucks, vans and roadside surveying equipment.
A council spokeswoman said the price received for the junk would be determined on the open market.
“Plant for sale are at the end of life cycle or are beyond their economically viable life.
The council hopes to raise current market value and the open market will determine what that value is,” said the spokeswoman.

Tender documents for the scrap metal sale must be returned to the council by midday on May 23. View the Machinery Yard Sale Catalogue or visit www.donegalcoco.ie for more information.
