Inishowen culture vultures out for Heritage Week 24.08.11

NATIONAL Heritage Week is well underway but there are still plenty of free and interesting events taking place around Inishowen until Sunday.
Among the events is a guided visit to an important high cross, a celebration of the rich history of Lough Swilly and a 'walk and talk' around Urris.
National Heritage Week is co-ordinated by the Heritage Council which is tasked with identifying, protecting, preserving and enhancing Ireland’s national heritage.
Heritage Council chief executive, Michael Starrett, said: "I would encourage everyone to check what events are happening in their local areas. You may be surprised to see what heritage is on your doorstep," he said. For more www.heritageweek.ie
