Brendan is the Business

POPULAR Inishowen teacher Brendan Boyle may be
retiring this year but he’s bowing out on a high
note.
Brendan who taught Business at Carndonagh Community
School for nearly 30 years, has had his best Leaving
Certificate results ever.
Results day last Wednesday marked the end of an era
for the long-serving teacher.
It was his last day to go into Carndonagh Community
School to meet with and congratulate his students.
This year in particular there were plenty of them on
the ‘A’ List to congratulate. |
Six of his students got
an ‘A’ in Business at higher level and three
students got an ‘A’ at ordinary level. As one
nervous-looking student walked past to get her
results, Brendan was quick to put her at ease
“Don’t look so worried, your Business result will be
a good one,” he said. Louise Doherty came back
smiling as she told her proud teacher “I got an A!”
“I’m delighted that I had such a great class for my
last year. They did really well. I think this is the
best results I have ever had, so it’s a nice way to
end” Brendan said.
Brendan is known for having a great sense of humour
and an ability to make the study of Business
interesting. |

He added: “People ask
me what it’s like to be retired after teaching for
so long but it still feels like I’m just on holidays
at the moment.” |
